Simple answer is “NO” You will not get ‘High’
A common misconception in the CBD world is that it can have a similar effect to that of marijuana. It’s an easy mistake to make, given that CBD and THC (the cannabinoid known for its psychoactive properties) come from the same plant. CBD however, is non intoxicating, and will not get you high. Most, if not all CBD products sold, contain little to no THC.
CBD and THC both interact with the CB1 receptors in our brain, but unlike THC that binds to these receptors, CBD is a CB1 adversary. It actually blocks any intoxicating effects on the brain.
A good way to look at CBD in relation to “getting high,” is that it contains all of the soothing and healing properties of THC but without the high. That is not to say however, that there are no side effects when it comes to taking CBD in high doses. Dizziness and nausea are just a few symptoms related to the cannabinoid, but are often only experienced when exceeding the recommended dose. Click here to learn more about CBD Dosing.
Lastly, it’s important to keep in mind that CBD can indeed alter the way you feel, but this does not mean that you are getting high. It is known for its calming, relaxing and anti-inflammatory properties, but as mentioned, contains little to none of the psychoactive ingredient THC.
